Ethereal Amethyst
Amethyst is a purple gemstone that symbolizes peace, strength of self, courage and calmness. It is mined in Brazil, Uruguay and Zambia. The purple color has come to symbolize royalty because members of the royal families used to wear purple and purple was the most expensive color of dye.
Care of Amethyst Jewelry
- Amethyst is well suited for everyday wear.
- Avoid direct sunlight and exposure to heat which may cause color to fade.
- Avoid contact with chemicals.
- To clean, gently scrub with a soft toothbrush and a solution of mild dish soap and warm water.
- May be cleaned in an ultrasonic unit but exercise caution.
- Steam cleaning not recommended.
